Robert Wunsch is a self-taught photographer and director based between Berlin and Mallorca. He began his career as Creative Director at Highsnobiety, where he helped shape the publication’s visual identity and created its acclaimed print magazine.
His work has since taken him around the world, photographing iconic faces and developing a visual language shaped by the people, places and cultures he encountered along the way. Working fluidly across portraiture, documentary, fashion and film, Wunsch brings a cinematic sensibility and a strong graphic eye to both commissioned and personal work.
His images are defined by a tension between observation and staging, precision and spontaneity. Whether photographing people or the world around him, he is drawn to character, atmosphere, light and unexpected details - creating images that feel confident and immediate, while often moving towards abstraction, surrealism and ambiguity.
