Photographed in the marble quarries of Carrara, Italy, BLOCK explores a landscape shaped by the continuous extraction of stone from the mountains.
Rather than documenting the quarrying process itself, the series focuses on the traces it leaves behind — monumental cuts, geometric surfaces and fragments of landscape suspended between the natural and the man-made.
Through shifts in scale and perspective, the photographs transform an industrial landscape into a study of form, intervention and consequence.
